打鐵趁熱 ~~ "Steelers" Fever!

我也來野人獻曝一下! 今年匹茲堡的美式橄欖球(football)隊 Steelers [鋼鐵人隊] 以黑馬之姿打進Super Bowl。
既然友B用她自稱的"火星文"寫了一篇超精采的球賽回顧，我就來寫個最近從S君學來的基本football 概念吧!! (這時有點點小得意今天無聊的工作中想到的title....呵呵...)

1. 進攻的一方有4次機會將球向終點方向推進10碼。
2. 若4次內推進10 yard 以上成功就有下一輪的4次機會，如此直達終點。
3. 若未達成上述任務，進攻機會就需要歸給對方。
4. 抵達終點 Touchdown 者可以拿到6分，還有1分的踢球加分機會喔!!
5. Quarterback (四分衛)是球隊的靈魂人物 -- 負責佈局戰術，通常會丟球給前方的隊友
6. 其他的規則太細了無法一一列舉........

Football這個快節奏的運動真是 "球球"關鍵，跟歐洲的足球 Soccor 的速度有得比，難怪場邊的球迷、包括坐在電視機前的我們都快要把屋頂掀了！！！
雖然說Quarterback的角色重要，球員之間的默契和信任感常常會是勝敗的關鍵，像是前一周Steelers與同一聯盟的勁旅Colts對陣的時候，對方即使速度極快但也常常傳球失誤，反觀Steelers的進攻分隊(Offense)以慢速推進，等到離終點20 yards以內的進攻時，幾乎有80%的機率可以Touchdown得分，在加上防守分隊(Defense)優異的防守讓對方常常寸步難行...

接下來一定要說說Terrible Towel，這是一條"金"底黑字的毛巾，專門用來為Steelers加油用的，使用方法很簡單，請拿好毛巾的一端，舉高手後用力的旋轉..........(這不是冷笑話喔)

今天處理data實在是無聊至極，於是google了一下，發現一個網頁介紹 Terrible Towel的由來，我稍微瀏覽內容，一個CEO被老闆叫去設計球隊的周邊商品，那時正好也是Steelers打進季後賽 (Playoff) 的一年 (約1975')，由於Steelers的代表顏色是金色和黑色 (Black and Gold)，當時有一些球迷拿著黃色小毛巾在場邊甩，一開始這條毛巾叫做"Dirty Towel"，於是這個CEO想到要學英國和日本的支持球隊的球迷 -- 需要一些 "dynamic display of color and motion"，這條 嚇人的毛巾 (Terrible Towel)應運而生，這個CEO認為它並非用來嚇唬對手的而是用來提振士氣的 ("It would be a positive force, driving the Steelers to superhuman performance.")，不過還是很多播報員認為 "The Terrible Towel is poised to strike!"

最爆笑的是他們CEO正在討論如何宣傳這條毛巾，如下：

"Yellow and gold will fly," cried a sales voice. "Tell them if they don't have one, buy one, and if they don't want to buy one, dye one!"

"I'll tell them they can use the towel to wipe their seats clean," I said, "They can use it as a muffler against the cold. They can drape it over their heads if it rains."

今天下班後我已經和B去買一條囉....質地純棉... 準備在2006年2月5日Super Bowl 當天用力甩吧!!!

p.s. 等 Super Bowl 結束，再來就是要看2月的冬季奧運，然後等6月世界盃足球賽 (2006 FIFA World Cup) 開打，我又要掀屋頂囉 !! :P
